ecohome is a household inventory app that helps you digitally catalog household items, track their usage, and understand their value and environmental impact. As a platform, it also lets you share, lend, and borrow within your community, reducing waste and promoting a more sustainable lifestyle.
Yes! ecohome is completely free to use. There are no limits on the number of items you add to your household inventory, no restrictions on sharing, and best of all, no pesky ads!
Right now, sign up with Google, Meta, Microsoft, or Apple and create a household profile. Invite house members to manage and view items together. Adding a profile photo helps neighbors recognize you when sharing. We’re also developing ID verification for added security.
After signing up, we have made adding items to your inventory super easy. Simply point your camera, scan the barcode, and relax. Our smart AI will automatically fill in the description, product name, and brand. Review, edit, and keep your inventory updated as you add new things. Organized by usage and item location, your digital catalog helps you find items, avoid duplicates, and decide what to borrow or lend.
Eco Bot makes adding your entire shelf effortless. Open EcoHome, point your camera at any shelf and snap a single photo — Eco Bot's AI instantly identifies every item: name, brand, and category, all automatically.
Once the scan is complete you have two options:

Ensure all transactions comply with local laws and regulations. You're responsible for making sure your activities are lawful and respectful. Be a good neighbor, not a liability!

You can also set up a smaller "Friends Circle" for gifting and lending items exclusively to your friends. Typically, the borrower is responsible for any item they borrow. If something gets damaged or lost, the borrower should cover the cost of repair or replacement. If the item already has any damage or wear-and-tear, the borrower should note that as well. ecohome is not responsible for any loss or damage of items lent or borrowed between users.
For more details, please refer to ecohome’s Terms of Use.
The easiest way is for the borrower to pick it up from your home, a chance for a quick chat. If that is not your thing, meet in a common space like the lobby or leave it at the front desk.
If you are lending items to someone outside your neighbor’s trust radius, you can pick a neutral spot like a parking lot or coffee shop.
You can cancel your request anytime but be a sport and give the lender a heads-up. No one likes being ghosted. Reach out to [email protected] for support.
ecohome sends automatic reminders about due dates to both borrowers and lenders. If you are running late, let the lender know. It is up to them how they want to handle it. Most people are understanding, but if you know in advance that you will be delayed, a quick message goes a long way.
Just send an email to [email protected]. We're here to help with any questions or situations you might have.
